New Products: Precision Filters/Attenuator for X-ray Synchrotron
12/19/2013 - 11/30/-0001
Lansing, NY, December 13, 2013 -- ADC announced today that it is introducing 2 types of precision filters/ attenuator for X-ray synchrotron applications. The first is a Precision Attenuator for Hard X-Rays (ABS-300) that was developed at the synchrotron radiation source PETRA III at DESY and licensed by ADC. This system provides the ability for scientists to reduce the incident x-ray flux to any desired value. It consists of 12 Foil carriers and is both vacuum and EPICS compatible. The second unit, the RSXS Filter Array, moves 14 x-ray filters into and out of the beam using a stepper motor and ball screw drive unit. The filters are mounted to an arm which moves perpendicular to the beam, allowing an individual filter to be selected for placement in the beam. The array is enclosed in a vacuum chamber which connects to the customer’s beam line. The filters are mounted in easily interchangeable frames so that any desired filter can be installed. The filter system was developed in collaboration with Singapore Synchrotron Light Source. For more information on “RSXS Filter Array” please visit:
About the company: ADC has over 17 years of experience and extensive capabilities in the machining and manufacturing of complex systems for the scientific community. We focus mainly on synchrotron and neutron sources. We have an in house physicist and group of engineers for such things as magnet modeling for undulators, optics for beam lines, FEA and thermal analysis, as well as other disciplines. We have the facilities and equipment for UHV applications such as a class-50 clean room, leak checkers, RGAs, vacuum pumps, and UHV component cleaning and bagging facilities, as well as a highly trained staff.
